According to FCC statistics, Starlink is capable of providing broadband speeds even though they are slower than fiber. However, fiber internet offers 5-4 times faster speed and greater reliability than Starlink, and it also has lower monthly fees and lower latency. Unfortunately, fiber internet is not widely available in rural areas of the US.
Due to this limitation, many people have started to switch to Starlink, and some have already made the switch but are unsure how to access the Starlink router settings. Fortunately, a guide is now available to help with this process. Let’s begin with the guide to access the Starlink router settings.
Starlink App Method
Accessing the Starlink router login administration dashboard is effortless with the Starlink app, which is available for both iOS and Android devices. To download the app, simply visit your app store and search for Starlink. Once installed, ensure that you are connected to your Starlink Wifi network and logged in to your Starlink account in the app to access the Starlink router settings.
Upon launching the app, you will be directed to the dashboard where you can check vital information regarding the status of Starlink. Additionally, the app features buttons for testing internet speed, checking for obstructions, adjusting network settings, and viewing network statistics. To access advanced router settings, including the ability to split the 2.4 and 5 GHz Wifi networks and enable custom DNS, simply click on the Settings button.
Web Browser Method
Accessing the Starlink router administration dashboard is easy and can be done in two ways. The first method is through the Starlink app, available for iOS and Android devices. To access the Starlink router settings from the app, ensure that you are connected to your Starlink Wifi network and logged into your Starlink account in the app. Once on the app dashboard, you can view important information about your Starlink system, including the system status and network statistics, as well as access advanced router settings, such as custom DNS.
The second method of accessing the Starlink router is through a web browser on a device that is on your Starlink home network. Simply type in the following IP address in your web browser: http://dishy.starlink.com/ or use the Starlink dish IP address: http://192.168.100.1. It’s important to note that when accessing the Starlink router page, you must use http:// and not https://.
If you are using a third-party router with bypass mode enabled, you may need to manually type in the statistics URL in order to see your network statistics: http://dishy.starlink.com/statistics. However, you won’t have access to other Starlink router options in bypass mode.
It’s important to note that while the web version of the Starlink administrative dashboard has a similar layout and functions to the app, some settings and features may not be available via the browser method. For instance, advanced Wifi settings cannot be changed through the browser.
