How Do I Get Around An IP Ban? Detailed Description!

The IP address is no strange concept anymore in the age of technological advances. It is a numerical set assigned to each device when connecting to the network serving two main purposes of host or network interface identification and location addressing.

But many people don’t usually know that there are some times, for a variety of reasons, ISP or internet service providers impose a so-called IP ban. “How do I get around an ip ban?”-You can ease your confusion after flicking through our post.

Without further ado, let’s get started!

What is an IP ban?

what is ip ban
IP ban is a setup of blocking to deny requests coming from one or many IP addresses. The ban can be automatically imposed by a server when detecting any abusing symptoms or manually set by the administrator. Wrongdoings that can result in an IP ban include brutal force attacks, spammers’ emails, and so many more.

IP ban enables servers to restrict or reject people’s access to games, websites, emails, forums, etc. for regional or private concerns.

How Do I Get Around An IP Ban?

There are many ways to get around an IP ban, by using these below-listed ways, you will probably find your most appropriate way to remove or bypass this ban.

Change IP Address

Change ip address
Why change your IP address? You need to replace your banned IP with a new one for many reasons, like access to overdue games downloading resources or visiting other websites that are regionally restricted.

In some cases, you even have to get an IP from other countries. For example, if services such as Netflix, Spotify, Hulu or BBC are not available in your region, you will need another IP belonging to another country to satisfy your needs.

Before getting down to any specific work, you will have to know some basic things. There are two types of IP address: one is called static IP and another is the dynamic IP address So, static IP is the type that is permanently assigned for your devices while dynamic one constantly changes whenever you enter the network.

Most residential network gate or router and other directly network-connected devices are assigned with IP addresses. Therefore, I will explain how to change dynamically provided IP addresses only.

How to change a router’s IP address

As mentioned above, a router is a home network gate that connects many devices to the Internet. This dynamic three-layer networking appliance has one public IP address. Every device connecting to it, when entering the network, has the same public IP address as it.

So, changing the IP address of the router means changing the IP address of the device. There are two ways to do it:

  • Turn off the networking model for some time before re-turn it on

Turn your appliance off and let it rest overnight and hopefully the next morning, it will change the IP address.

  • Reconnect to your ISP via administrative Interface

By going to the Administrative Console, you can see the connect button, hit it once to disconnect from the upstream ISP, hit it again to reconnect to it

How to change a computer’s IP address

If you have only one computer that is directly connected to the ISP, then this way will work; otherwise, you have to change your router’s IP address. This way, you will manually release and obtain a new IP address through the Command Prompt interface.

First, open your Command Prompt on your computer. If you use Wins 7 and below, click Start, then Run, and type cmd as shown below while on Windows 8, type WIN key, and X key to bring Power User Menu and choose Run.

The next step is to run “ipconfig /release” and “ipconfig /renew” commands. And finally, run Elevated Command Prompt (Run as System Administrator) to execute the ipconfig command.

In the end, you will have a changed line of IP address.

How to change a computer’s IP address

Use VPN Service

The emergence of the Internet comes along with much unforeseen danger to the privacy and identities of users. A personal VPN network service is launched to protect users against those illegal activities.

Joining a VPN network is nothing different from entering a standard network, but the VPN service provides the server, and users can direct themself to other IP addresses even in the other countries. For that reason, they can easily bypass the IP ban.

Use Proxy Server

The proxy server is a computer or an intermediary between users’ devices and the Internet, providing an indirect network for users. It can give out a diverse source of information coming from different regions and servers.

By using this way, besides avoiding the IP ban, you can also monitor and request the content you want and do anonymous browsing with excellent speed.

Conclusion

That’s all you need to know about how to get around IP ban. As you can see, the process is just using other applications or switching IP addresses, and I must say it is easy enough for even amateurs to operate on their devices.
