In this article, I will give you a detailed guide to get back this password and tips and tricks to help you even if you don’t have any experience in it. Let’s begin.
Use The Default Login Information To Recover Router Password
Most producers provide the fixed defaults username and password for the first login time. If you didn’t change any login information, it would be really easy to recover router password.
Try the common login information
It’s the easiest way to get your router password back. Typically, the most common model will use the same login information for all. Here are some of the most common passwords! Check them out!
- Use ‘’admin’’ word for both of admin and password
- Use ‘’admin’’ word for admin login and a blank password or vice versa

Now, what you need to do is click here. Then scrolling down and looking for the ‘’Select your Router Manufacturer’’ line. Choose your model in the table and click the ‘’find password’’ button. Well done! Your password and username will appear on the right of the table.

Note*: Although they are from the same manufacturer, they often use different passwords for each model. So, consider your model and use the right information on the ‘’ model’’ column.

Generally, this tool can help you to quickly get back your router password by using multiple attempts to log in the wifi system with different credentials each time. However, it may not work if your system protects against multiple logins or you have to change the password before.

When you finish downloading, you need to locate the file .exe of this software. Then double click and wait for the setup in a few seconds.

First, download the RouterPassView here. When your download finishes, open it immediately without further setup.
In the main window of RouterPassview, use the Ctrl+O key to open the ‘Open Router Config File’ option and choose the appropriate file. You can also drop the configuration file into the main window.
Now, scroll down and find your correct password. If it does not work, the window will stay empty. In that case, you can try to switch to Ascii Text Mode by pressing F3 or switching to Hex Dump Text Mode by F4.
*Note: When you have finished recovering the router password by this method and changed the password, don’t forget to backup the configuration file again for the next time.
For users with no experience, don’t worry, just follow these steps below.
- Open your browser: Google Chrome, Edge, etc.
- Type the IP address you have found above into the searching bar
- Click on the Administration tab and choose backup to file
- Save it in the individual file and put it in a particular folder.
Reset Your Router
You probably use this last method if all above didn’t work. Reset your router will change all of your login information to the default settings, so make sure to keep this in mind.
Before beginning the reset of your router, let’s check some settings that will be changed:

Use the paperclip or small stick
Now, you should prepare a paperclip or small stick then put it into the pinhole. When you hear the ‘’click’’ sound, hold it for 10 seconds or more.
You’ll typically wait until your router’s front lights change. The lights can start to blink or turn blinkered to solid depending on the model or brand. Be careful with it; the reset is successful when you see the change of the light.
